Welcome to Cockamamy Farm!
On April 1, 2014, we purchased a 100 year-old farm house and its 7+ acres. This project is a dream for us—Ben is a carpenter and jack-of-all-trades, Lacey is a long-time interior design magazine editor and DIY decorating diva. As you might imagine, we have big big plans for this very humble place—inside and out! Some might even call this whole homesteading thing a cockamamy idea. Well, maybe. But we are game to give it all a try! And to take you along for the ride.
Our blog will keep you in the know about all that we are up to, from knocking down walls and ripping up four layers of vinyl flooring to planting raised beds, figuring out the pond, replacing the septic system, building a greenhouse with recycled materials…and on and on. Our to-do list is amazingly, intimidatingly long. But we are excited to start marking things off the list! So let’s get started!
Congrats to Lacey and Ben!! You guys are incredible 🙂 I know this is going to be a process and I cannot wait to watch you along the way! Please make sure your tetanus shots are up to date 🙂 Much love to you both!!
Lacey, I didn’t realize you had gotten married and taken on such a fun project. It will be fantastic to live on so much land!
