Last time I posted about our sweet Okra’s journey of healing, her wounds looked like the photo below.
That was about six weeks ago. Today, her side is completely healed and covered in hair! It is amazing to me to look back at these images and realize just how quickly she has recovered. The accident was the last Saturday of January—only two and a half months ago!
Take a quick scroll through the images below to see Okra’s amazing disappearing wound over the last six weeks.
And then, suddenly…it was GONE! See below…
And these two are back to their puppy antics: swimming in the pond (at any opportunity), chasing chickens while trying to pretend like they are just walking quickly by, wrestling, chasing, playing, and general craziness and wet-dog-on-a-farm stinkyness.
Not to mention the sweetness. They love just as hard as they play. And sometimes that means leaning so hard into a good head rub that I have to lean back to keep from getting pushed over. They are babies, but they are BIG, strong babies. And hairy. Did I mention the hair (i.e. dust bunnies the size and consistency of actual bunnies, a clogged, full-every-time-I-use-it vacuum, a wardrobe covered in dog hair, upholstery covered in dog hair, bedding (even though they don’t sleep in our bed) covered in dog hair)? But we love them anyway. And are so thankful for their health and happiness!
I am so happy Okra is better. Thank Goodness I won’t have to see any more photos of the wounds!!
So glad to see her all better. Those are some serious happy puppy faces.
